Better than the Competition !
by Happy Rock Creeker | on 9/1/2026 10:14:27 PM
I have owned most SUVs out there. Prior to the 2025 Pathfinder Rock Creek I own now , I had a New Chevy Tahoe , and a New Chevy Suburban , hard to beat those rides. When I bought the Pathfinder in 2023 I was leary of the mid sized and living up to what I had been driving for years.
Well , the verdict came in quickly , Quiet , Roomy , plenty of head and leg room. Easy to navigate the
controls. Nice stereo. Did I say Quiet ? Several people who have rode with me have said out nice this rode and were surprised by the quietness of the road noise - compares to the big Chevys.
The Driver seat is wide , deep , and comfortable , have driven 10 plus hours without any pains or issues.
The back seat captain chairs are nice with the center consule , easy in and out , plenty of leg room. The third row is smaller , good for kids or smaller adults , its ok , not like the Suburban , to be fair not in the same class. The storage in the back is nice once you put the third row down flat , I do not use the third row much and use the storage more , so it works out great.
I use the Applecare and it works great for my needs for Nav , music , etc. The gas mileage is high teens around town and lower 20s on the highway.
It handles great and has a nice turning radius. The engine gets up and goes with the nice V6 in it.
To be fair , here are a couple things that I do not care for , not big deals , but I will talk about them.
The trim in the cabin is silver and reflective , and when the sun hits it right it reflects which is not good. In fact , I put a dull black tape on the strip above the controls in the center , that made that issue go away , but its something I think Nissan should consider changing to any other color or non reflective.
It does have the hesitation at times when you hit the gas , and you have to feather the peddle to keep it from doing that , that is at a dead stop , does not occur when up to speed and driving. It is something to be aware of if you are pulling in front of oncoming traffic.
The Auto Stop they have installed is a pain. If you remember to hit the button next to the shifter and turn it off , it stops , until you turn it off and go again , then hit the button again. It turns off the engine to save gas I guess ? Cannot be good for the starter , so I push the button , no other fix I am aware of that disables that feature.
Be careful when using the Cruise Control - All around Radar. It will yank you away from a preceived threat , car you passed , or switching lanes. Once you are aware of it , you are good , just be aware it may try to over protect you because of the rap around radar.
Now the radar system in this veehicle is awesome , front and rear park assist is great , and the back up camera with the overhead view is great and makes it easy to park. It also has the lane change , blind spot indicators on the mirror that light up , and the vehicle will pull you away from the threat.
One last thing , Leg room ! I am over 6 ft tall and I can straighten my lets out , plenty of room , and the head room is about eight inches above my head , shoulder room is great , no fighting over the arm rest , room for both !
The material in the Rock Creek is tough , will not cut or scratch easily.
Ok , look at a Rock Creek , compare to the competition and you will be surprised like I was/…
